Round Trip

After landing in Colombo, picking up your luggage, you can exchange your currency at a good rate. Our driver Udara will be expecting you at the exit, outside the airport. Please look out for the sign “Spring of Life”.
You will be taken through the beautiful countryside to Habarana in the north of the island, a drive of approx.4 hours.
Here you can relax in the “Hotel Pelwehera”.

Early in the morning you are driven to Sigeriya, 11 km away where you can climb up the famous ”Sigeriya Rock“. You are rewarded with a stunning view from the top of the mountain. You can see the Royal Palace and the beautiful Sirigiya girls painted into the rocks. Here you are in the centre of the well known ancient culture of Sri Lanka. In the afternoon you will visit the famous, mysterious, and ancient Dambulla Cave Temple, on another not so high mountain. Later you will travel to the ancient Royal City of Anuradhapura

If you like you can be taken in the early morning to Mihintale, to experience the sunrise with a spectacular vista on the mountain. There is a lot to see and be amazed by in Anuradhapura. It is an ancient royal city with many attractions. The most important location is the ancient temple with the holy Bhoditree (the oldest tree in the world) which was brought as a suckling to Anuradhapura from India by a princess 2,500 years ago.

Today Polonnaruwa is the main attraction. On the way you visit “Aukana – Buddha Statue” and the Kalawala Water Tank. After lunch you experience a tour of the Sri Lanka’s ancient culture in Polonnaruwa. You see the spacious grounds between the temples and the bathing houses of the old centre. If you like, a tourist guide can tell you more about the ancient myths of this amazing ancient culture. The sculptures of this site are famous and it is impressive to stand in front of a huge Buddha statue. It really creates a solemn feeling.

Departure is at 8am. Today we will drive through absolutely beautiful countryside. We will have lunch at the restaurant “Sorabora”. Then we will visit the village of the Weddas, the aborigines of Sri Lanka. It is very interesting to see how people have lived in the past from hunting and cultivating vegetables and rice. They dance their ancient cultural dances, which is an unusual encounter. You can decide of course, if you would rather go to the museum.
Following a further 3 hour drive through the mountains you will reach Ella and the “Hotel Country Comfort”. Ella is situated on the top and offers fantastic vistas all around and generally there is a lot to see!

You will leave the hotel at 9am, board a train at 9.30am and take a journey through the airy mountains with their many tea plantations. On the way you will get to see two big waterfalls. It is an amazing experience! At 12.30pm you will leave the train in Nanu Oya and meet up with our driver Udara, who will be awaiting you there. The journey continues for another half an hour when you reach the famous town of Nuwara Eliya, where previously the English built their colonial houses and hotels. You will have lunch here. Later you will be able to take a sightseeing tour: golf course, flower and vegetable gardens, city tour to enjoy the old graceful buildings of the colonial period.

After breakfast you will leave the hotel and drive to Kandy. On the way you will pass two waterfalls (Ramboda Fall and Garandi Ella). You will visit a tea producer and the tea plantation and reach Kandy in the early afternoon. There follows a visit to the famous Botanical Gardens and the “Holy Temple of Tooth”. In the evening you can enjoy a beautiful dance performance.

On the eighth day you will return from Kandy – on the way visiting an elephant orphanage – and return to the Ayurveda Spa centre “Spring of Life”. Your beautiful excursion comes to an end.
